Completely disappointed

Five months to the day after taking delivery of this refrigerator it quit working. It took 6 days for the repair resulting in the loss of quite a bit of food as I had a full fridge since I didnt expect my new refrigerator to quit working. I contacted LG about a food loss claim and spoke to a customer service rep who assured me hed get back to me with a response that day. Its been a week. So unless youre looking for headaches Id look elsewhere for a refrigerator.

LITTLE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT

Great looking fridge. Compact yet roomy. Doesnt stick out into walkway in front of island. Doesnt fingerprint easily. Doors open separately. Two freezer compartments is the best. Only complaint is the ice maker. Made ice once then quit even with reset and tech help over phone. Dont know what the problem is.

VERY VERY DISAPOINTED with PERFORMANCE

Cosmetically the unit looks great. The freezer doe snot maintain cold enough temperature. LG service help desk was a joke and complete waste of time. Them relating to my issue and my understanding their broken English was worthless. VERY DISAPPOINTED PERFROMANCE WITH LITTLE TRUE CONCERN ABOUT RESOLUTION. Took 45 minutes on line to even get close to what the problem would likely be. I finally gave up and called a local appliance repair person. there is not the time nor patience to remain on line when all the service representative wants to do is restate what the caller already said . One of the worst client experience I have ever had. Shameful. Please have person who cares contact me.

Weve only had the fridge for a few weeks but essentially happy with it. It is very quiet doors and drawers operate nicely. The stainless finish is smooth clean and without blemishes. The two drawer freezer is convenient but it seems the ice maker is a little slow but consistent. Simple controls and filter access is fantastic compared to our old side by side from a different manufacturer. The counter depth is exactly as described and blends into the cabinet arrangement flawlessly.

Okay but not terrific.

I bought this LG mainly because it had pretty good reviews. Six months after buying it the compresser goes out. Then later the water started appearing on the top of the bottom drawer. The ice machine keeps shooting the ice on the bottom drawer. Repair man came both times quickly. I like the French door design but I would buy another brand next time. Also I bought an extended warranty which expires soon but the new warranty is unbelievably expensive. It seems that nothing thats made now is not much quality.

We have had the LG counter depth refrigerator for over 2 years and are very satisfied with it. It fits well into our kitchen and holds sufficient food. The only problem is getting prompt service. Most local repair services arent will to service LG products. When our unit needed service recently we had to call the factory to get prompt service. Fortunately the unit was still in warranty.

Repair already?

I purchased this a month ago and already have a technician comng to fix it. woke up one morniing a week ago to milk smelling sour. checked the tempwith 2 different thermometers and they read 44 degrees in the fridge and 10 degreesmin the freezer. no frost anywhere. I have been able to keep the food by turning both sections down to the max. Followed the steps to reset per LGs guidlines. this morning with the temp set at 33 and -7 respectfully the fridge is at 40 and the freezer didnt check honestly. So I will e etting LG know that the Tech needs to keep coming for a Monday appt. The Fridge worked wonderfully until it just changed its mind. Debating now do I trust a unit that needed repair after less than 60 days or return it. Six weeks of the return windoware ggone so I needd to think quick.

I cant say enough about how great this refrigerator is. It has twice the space of our old one yet fits in the same space. Amazing The water outlet is 100 better than what we had previously it fills a glass in 1/3 the amount of time And the lighting is great I can actually see what we have in it. I think you get the point. Oh and our old refrig. was a Frigidaire only five years old.

We replaced a failing French door fridge from another famous maker with this LG. The old fridge had ice and water through the door. The old ice dispenser had lots of problems and it seems from what we have seen that many ice through the door fridges have similar issues. We had some issues with water through the door of the old one as well. Now over 1 month in the new LG is flawless with ice and water dispensers both internal. It turns out that opening the door to get water several times a day is not a hassle and the new dispenser does not drip below as I had feared might happen. The ice maker is flawless. We love the double freezer drawers really beats the single drawer we had before with an inner sliding upper drawer. This fridge is very quiet well lit with a very nice layout for the shelves. The price was great that makes the whole experience even better. The counter depth made bringing the fridge though all doors and stairway a non-issue and it still has a lot of usable room. Having the ice maker that goes through the door cuts into your usable refrigerator space we found in our old one. The stainless finish stays clean and the refrigerator looks even better in person. Magnets stick which is a plus. We highly recommend this fridge.

Frost buildup in freezer

Weve had this fridge for a few months and havent been impressed. After a few days we noticed that there was frost in the freezer. The customer service representative was not helpful. I gave up trying to fix the problem so there is still frost building up around the seal of the freezer drawer. One of the doors to the refrigerator section closes nicely but the other door bangs shut if you dont hold it all the way until it closes. I probably would not recommend this refrigerator.

We purchased this refrigerator less than 3 months ago. We are having some problems with frost and ice buildup in the freezers. Was told by customer service that we had the temperature down too low? and that we needed to defrost the entire refrigerator. We were very disappointed that after only 3 months we were having difficulties and were to be inconvenienced with defrosting the frig already. Weve turned down the temperature and plan to defrost soon. We were unable to sign in to the website and had to call customer service which was also a hassle

We bought this refrigerator a month ago. We needed a counter-depth and it fit perfectly in the space. The finger print resistant stainless steel is so much better than regular stainless steel and is worth the extra cost. Having 2 freezer drawers is very convenient. The refrigerator has lots of room in the door compartments and has a bin for vegetables and another one for fruits. We have plenty of space for everything. The ice maker works great also and the water filter is very easy to install. We had a slight problem with the way the water tasted but after changing the braided water line to a PEX supply line the water tastes great We are very pleased with this refrigerator.

I had bought a similar model refrigerator from another manufacturer in Jan. In April a slow Freon leak was discovered after I lost everything in my freezer. Going back and forth for several months I finally cut my loss and found my LG refrigerator. Im completely in love with it I love the French doors for convenience. At first I wasnt crazy about 2 bottom drawers for the freezer but Im so glad I bought it So convenient having frequently needed items in top freezer drawer and meats in lower drawer. I absolutely love my LG freezer

DefectiveF water supply

I like the refrigerator. It is perfect for our kitchen. However the ice maker has stopped functioning even with a new filter. I have called for help. I have done everything they had me do. It still does not work. It was suggested that there is a manufacturer defect. We have never been able to fill an 8 oz glass in 5 minutes with the inside water . Customer service has said this is a manufacturers defect because you should be able to fill an 8 oz glass in seconds.

Problem from day one and no help from LG

I have had this refrigerator for about two weeks. There has been a problem with frost on the lip between the top and bottom freezer drawer. Also the refrigerator will not get to the temperature set. I have it at 34 and I have been unable to get it below 37 and it is almost always higher-as high as 42. I contacted service again via email service submission two days ago and have heard nothing back. I bought this from Costco and I might return it before it is too late. On the positive side I love the fridge. Great layout and just what I wanted. However it is very disappointing to have these issues with a brand new appliance and such terrible service from LG.

Very Disappointed with the Freezer

I bought the LG French Door Double Freezer Model #LMWC23626 October 2021. I had no issues with it until August 2023. That was when the bottom freezer door started getting ice along the edges inside. This is a frost-free Freezer supposedly. I finally had to chip the ice off so the door would close properly. There was only a 1 yr warranty from the store. I did register it on-line but dont know if that gives me extra coverage or not. Its a beautiful fridge and I love everything else about it but am very disappointed that it ices up. I wish I had read reviews addressing this problem before I purchased it. Buyer Beware.

compressor constantly ran

bought this in Feb 2021. started off by having bad compressor vibrations several times/week. support didnt do anything about them so it continued for a year or so. then compressor started to run ALL THE TIME. it got noisier over the months and was unbearable. In Fall 2022 had service on it about 3 times over 2 months replacing compressor other parts. one repair resulted in total cooling system failure. final repair fixed cooling issue but compressor again started to run constantly. Finally in 8/2023 I reported again to LG and they gave refund. Exactly 1 week later the whole unit died with a smoking controller board. this thing is total junk. countless hours of wasted electricity and noise mentally draining levels from compressor running constantly over the years.

Overall like it. Do not like the left door Closeout to right door does not always swing open. If right door is opened and then left the panel is in the way and we have to close the left door first - should not have to worry about which door was opened first.

Fridge bad in 5 months and support is nonexistent

I have only had the refrigerator for 5 months and it has already failed. The condenser fan has stopped running and the compressor is not working. I have been dealing with LG support for over 2 weeks to get this resolved and nothing has been done. To say this is bad service is an understatement.

Looks great in my remodeled kitchen

I came home from vacation to find everything in my 2 1/2 year old freezer had thawed and ice cream and ice had melted all over the freezer drawer. I had to throw away all of the food. I called the store where I bought the refrigerator/freezer. I was told it was no longer under warranty and to call a repair person. He came out and was not there more than 5 minutes. He told me that it was under warranty and charged me $65.00 but thankfully did tell me to call LG. He showed me the 800 phone number is listed inside the refrigerator door. LG sent out a certified technician who replaced the compressor. Technician was great. He answered all of my questions and was very professional. Problem I now have is the bottom drawer builds up ice and every time I open that drawer ice cube size chunks of ice fall onto my floor which I then have to clean up.

Great Refrigerator

We especially like the two-compartment freezer because different food items can be divided rather than cramming everything in one drawer. We previously had a black refrigerator but love the stainless steel because it doesnt show fingerprints.

Ive had the refrigerator for a year now. I like the design of it as far as ease of use. I dont like it i if its going to lead to frequent ice build up. i was told that the refrigerator needs quite a bit of air around it to operate properly. If this is true then Im very unhappy with this refrigerator. i have the kitchen designed for it to look built in between cabinets. i was not told anything like that at the time of sale. i dont like the fact that my refrigerator became packed with ice and required replacement parts to to be installed.

Bought this fridge a few years ago and it has been great. We needed a countertop depth fridge and wanted something that was easy to clean. Love the water dispenser being on the inside of the fridge. The condenser went out on us recently 3 yrs after purchase and contacted LG and they sent a tech out within a few days. Replaced FOC. Wish we had more room for a larger fridge but it fits our needs.

Great Disappointment

I purchased this refrigerator about a year and a half ago and after a year and 4 months it quit working. We had the 2 year Costco warranty and LG was supposed to honor it. Now after almost 2 months of waiting and untold hours on the phone we have neither a repair date nor a refund. Every time I talk to someone at LG they tell me it is being referred to the next level for resolution. This is absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Our nearly new LG washer went out 2 month before the refer. I will never purchase an LG appliance again Sure they all have problems but the true measure of a company is how and whether they address them. Shame on you LG

Immediate issues with freezer

While in the first year the freezer began to ice over the outside of packages and ice up the rails. Service people said I had to manually defrost it which too me time to arrange. A year later and now its NOT under warranty I manually defrosted it what is this 1953? and made a $70 certified service company call. Theyve seen this issue often and LG doesnt have a fix and hasnt done a recall. I have to defrost it AGAIN thanks neighbors then they will apply a thin coat of something to the seal and I will have to wait up to 3 days for it to dry. Then MAYBE that will fix the issue. MAYBE. What a piece of crap. Poor value due to repair costs. Boooooo. Fail.
