Fisher & Paykel

In 1934, Woolf Fisher and Maurice Paykel, sold imported refrigerators through Paykel’s family company, Paykel Brothers. With other family members investing capital, the pair opened their first office and showroom in Auckland, New Zealand. Soon after, they decided to manufacture their own appliances. By 1949, Fisher & Paykel was producing washing machines, refrigerators, and vacuum cleaners. They were barely keeping up with orders from retailers. Fisher & Paykel is still based in New Zealand, but their appliances reach over 80 countries around the globe.

The main philosophy behind Fisher & Paykel’s designs is to look towards the future. Always improving and creating, the technological advancements are obvious in their products. Products like the DishDrawer dishwasher, CoolDrawer refrigerators, and Smart Drive washers are examples of Fisher & Paykel’s commitment to making a better kitchen.

Fun Fact: Fisher & Paykel currently holds over 420 different patents.
