In 1908, Joe Barlow and John Seelig, two industrious hardware store owners in Ripon, Wisconsin, purchased several hand-powered washing machines from a company in Kansas City. After experimenting with the washing machines, the inventors devised a way to increase the machine's efficiency through high-speed gearing. In 1928, Speed Queen was born.
As a growing company with over 100 years of commercial quality and expertise, Speed Queen offers line of washers and dryers that are built better to last longer. Their appliances are built to last and are backed by an industry-leading warranty.
Fun Fact: During World War II, Speed Queen switched production to support the war effort, manufacturing parts for airplanes and tanks.
